Welcome to our 2017 World Series of Birding Team Page!
We are once again grateful for the continued support of our sponsor, Cellular Tracking Technologies (CTT), and super excited to have CTT's president Michael Lanzone on our team again in 2017!
This is the 34th year of the World Series of Birding, and what started out as a competition to see how many birds could be tallied in New Jersey over 24-hours, has turned into a world class fundraiser of bird conservation!
This year we will again pledge to take the high road and limit our competitive effort to human-powered mobility. Back on the bikes, we will scour the birding hotspots of southern Cape May County from 12am on May 6th until the stroke of midnight. We will seek to meet or exceed our winning total from last year of 164 species. While we always enjoy participating in the World Series of Birding, the real winners in this event are the birds, and the reasons is 100% because of your support. This year, please help us raise our goal of $50,000 which will help fund our ability to meet our mission by:
This year we are a team of three: CMBO's Director David La Puma, CTT's President Michael Lanzone, and our newest addition, Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Drew Weber.
We are gunning for gold once again, and with last year's victory we really feel we can kick it up a notch this year. So please consider making a tax-deductible donation to ensure CMBO can reach and exceed our goals in the coming years. Thank you in advance for your support - and stay tuned for updates as we get closer to the big event!
