The 2015 Scherman Hoffman Century Run Team after a full, fun day.
Thanks to a great team and to all of our supporters! While we didn't set any records, we enjoyed wonderful weather and found 79 species of birds. Notable views were provided by a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird guarding his nectar sources in the beautiful gardens at the Cross estate, a romantic pair of Rose-breasted Grosbeaks in the trees above the Hoffman house, and a territorial Marsh Wren in a Typhus patch in theGreat Swamp. Inexplicable misses included Mallard, Wild Turkey, Pileated Woodpecker and Brown Thrasher. Those were certainly there, but simply avoided our detection.
We got a good look at this nice American Redstart in 2015.
A glimpse of a far-off Heron Rookery in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.
